About
The Story Behind the Smile
“I hope you smile today.”
That sentence wasn’t created in a marketing meeting.
It was something I started saying instead of, “I hope you have a good day.”
And something interesting happened.
People smiled more.
Even when I didn’t feel like smiling myself.
Over time, I realized something: You don’t have to fix someone’s life to shift their moment.
Sometimes one sentence is enough.
Why This Exists
For most of my life, I’ve had what people call a hero complex.
I’ve always wanted to save people. Protect them. Pull them out of whatever they were going through.
Even when it cost me. Even when I was struggling myself.
At 41 years old, I’ve been through things that teach you how heavy life can feel.
And if I’m being honest — I don’t want anyone else to feel some of the things I’ve felt.
Hopelessness. Isolation. Feeling stuck. Losing faith in people.
That’s why this brand exists.
Because hope changes posture. Hope changes breathing. Hope changes perspective.
And sometimes hope starts with a smile.
The Confirmation Moment
I had this idea for years. But I didn’t move on it.
One day I was talking to a friend, Bridget of Tulare, California. She was going through a rough season. Before we finished the conversation, I said what I always say:
“I hope you smile today.”
She paused.
And I could feel the shift.
It made her lighter — even just for a moment.
And without thinking, I said:
“Thank you for the confirmation I needed.”
That confirmation wasn’t about her smiling.
It was about the brand.
People need this.
Why the QR Code Matters
We don’t always know who needs us.
And we don’t always know who we need.
The QR code was created to let strangers help strangers.
If someone scans the back of your shirt or your coffee cup, they can stay anonymous.
No pressure. No spotlight. No performance.
Just a private moment between two humans who will probably never meet.
One person wore it. One person scanned it. One person smiled.
That’s powerful.
What This Brand Represents
This isn’t just clothing.
It’s hope.
When you see someone wearing “I Hope You Smile Today,” it means something.
It means:
- We haven’t completely lost faith in people.
- We still believe in small kindness.
- We still believe strangers can care.
In a world where so many feel stuck, unseen, and disconnected — this brand says:
You are not alone.
The Real Reason I Keep Building
My kids are the reason I’m still going.
Without them, I don’t know if I would push this hard for a better world.
They deserve to grow up in a place where people still look out for each other.
They deserve to see their father build something rooted in hope.
And truthfully?
This is a brand I need myself.
I try to stay positive. I try not to let others see my negative moments. But like everyone, I have them.
This brand reminds me too.
The Mission
If you wear it, you’re part of something.
You’re giving someone a moment.
You’re creating a shift.
You’re proving that hope still exists in people.
And that matters more than we think.
I hope you smile today.
And I hope you help someone else smile too.
